𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬. 21 years. 11 editions. One question: 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒂 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕?
Brands are the building blocks of our identities, economies and daily lives, and only some of them prove remarkably resilient, adaptable and relevant.
Where does that magic come from?
For more than 20 years, since 2005, 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 has been the independent arbiter of branding and the curator of one of the most intriguing questions of our time: 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒂 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕?
In April, the 12th edition opened under a concept that fits the question: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲.
Brands that turn innovation into lasting value, while staying consistent in the trust they inspire.
This October, we take you behind the scenes: how a brand becomes a Superbrand, what is measured, and what the stamp stands for. And here's where we are now.
The brands considered for the 12th edition were first evaluated by the members of the 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥, then put through independent research conducted by Ipsos. Both stages are complete.
The next stage has begun: the brands that successfully completed the evaluation are invited to join the edition. The list of Romania's Superbrands is taking shape and we'll introduce the brands here as they join.
Looking forward to what's next.

Through the journalistic lens with Paula Rusu: 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒓𝒂 𝒐𝒇 𝒇𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒘𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒇𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔?
In journalism, credibility depends on facts that can be checked and trusted. For brands navigating the same information landscape, the challenge is increasingly similar: being clear, verifiable and ready to respond when misinformation appears.
Paula Rusu brings it down to four essentials: transparency, verifiability, speed and values that remain firm when credibility is challenged.
And with this final take, we bring the conversation full circle.
Different questions. Perspectives shaped by different industries and experiences. That diversity is what made this conversation valuable, with each Honorary Council member adding another dimension to how we understand branding, reputation, trust and authenticity in the age of AI.
Thank you for following our series. This was just one chapter of the Superbrands journey.

AI analyses data in seconds, segments target groups, generates campaign ideas, and creates dozens of text versions. But just because it gives a quick answer, it doesn't mean we've asked the right question.
And that's where you come in. 💡
You know the context. You know what happened to the brand in recent years, what promises it made to its customers, and what human story is behind each decision.
You understand the nuances. You notice when a campaign works on paper, but is insensitive, forced, or simply not credible to the target audience.
You can take responsibility. AI can suggest a strategy, but it's not the team, the customer, or the consumers that need to justify a decision.
And there's more: your intuition. The ability to build on experience, curiosity, and humanity, which sometimes reveals an opportunity when the data doesn't show it yet.
Of course, AI can help with all of this. It can provide new perspectives, question your assumptions, and free up time for more important decisions.
But your brand doesn't just need more content. It needs its own perspective, consistent values, and message.
AI can help you write the strategy. You provide the context, so it's worth implementing. ...

Continuing on topic: 𝑰𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝑰, 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒅𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒖𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏? with Iulia Gabriela Nartea
In a world where content can be created instantly, what brands actually deliver carries even more weight. Technology can amplify a story, but it cannot compensate when the customer experience tells a different one.
Consistency becomes the link between promise and experience. And as Iulia highlights, the brand culture behind it ultimately lends credibility to its reputation.
💬 Next, we look at authenticity through a journalistic lens: what happens when fake news and deepfakes enter the picture?

According to Péter Oszkó, Hungarian companies are open to AI - they are just moving too slowly.
The CEO of O3 Partners compared the economic impact of AI to a meteor shower at the Marketing Summit: the change has already happened, so according to him, the question is not whether we adapt, but how fast.
The key to his argument is that the advantage is accumulating. Those who start using AI earlier collect more experience and data, which makes further acceleration possible. Thus, the scissors are increasingly opening up between companies.
He also brought his own business as an example: at O3 Partners, the transition initially increased costs, while the number of employees did not change in proportion. According to the data presented in the presentation, however, the first half of the year's revenue increased fourfold, while the previous loss-making first half of the year turned into a significant profit.
His claim is also supported by a recent domestic study: 500 surveyed companies use AI already, but nearly two-thirds are still only experimenting or in a few areas. Only 27% use it on a larger scale, and 42% spend less than 50,000 forints per month on AI services.
In other words, AI is already present in many Hungarian companies.
The real question is whether it has already been integrated into the business operations. ...

The employer brand and the consumer brand are not the same. A company can offer an excellent product, a great customer experience, and be humorous, lovable, and socially useful even if they have problems as an employer. Moreover, the work experiences of employees at a multi-thousand-employee company can vary greatly: a few negative stories do not necessarily describe the entire organisation.
However, in the age of social media, it is becoming increasingly difficult to draw a line between the two worlds. Employees talk about what it's really like to work for a company on Glassdoor, LinkedIn, TikTok, or even Reddit, while completely different values are in force within. This can easily become a credibility issue.
And here comes the really interesting question.
Is the brand what we tell consumers?
Or is it how we treat those who work for us day in and day out?
Perhaps a company no longer has just one brand. There is one that consumers see, and another that employees experience.
But how long can one brand remain credible if the other one tells a completely different story? ...
